Hardwood Plywood Core Types and Thicknesses

veneer_core.gif Veneer Core: Well suited for cabinet and casework. A cross layering of veneer sheets produces a strong and stable panel. calibrated_core.gif Calibrated Core/Platform: Perfect for cabinet and furniture manufacturing that requires exact tolerances. A precision inner ply with a  +/- .005” variation across the sheet.
composite_core.gif Composite Cores: Particleboard (PB) or medium density fibreboard (MDF) for a stable and flat plywood.
fibre_ply.gif Fibre-Ply: Cabinet manufacturers especially appreciate its excellent machineability and superior screw holding combined with exceptional strength and durability. Veneer and MDF layers between the face and back veneers create a lightweight, rigid and smooth panel.
alternating_grain.gif Alternating grain direction of each layer results in exceptionally strong panels.
